For over 40 years, the Iowa Foster and Adoptive Parents Association (IFAPA) has been a resource to foster, adoptive and kinship families in Iowa. IFAPA is a non-profit organization that empowers, supports and advocates for families. IFAPA provides training, peer support and resources to promote safety, permanency and well-being for Iowa’s children. Membership with IFAPA is free for Iowa's foster, adoptive and kinship families.

The Iowa Department of Human Services contracts with Iowa Foster and Adoption to recruit, train, license and support Iowa’s foster and adoptive families. The organization's responsibilities are divided between Four Oaks and Lutheran Services In Iowa, depending on which region of the state you live in.
